I am a Graduate Student (Thesis-based) at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada, working under the supervision of Prof. Emad A. Mohammed. My research focus is on Geometry-Aware Deep Learning and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), specifically focusing on scaling vision-based graph architectures.

Before joining Laurier, I worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at LightRing, where I developed real-time traffic monitoring systems and conversational agents using LangGraph and Whisper. I also spent over two years as a Data Scientist at Orange Innovation Egypt, building NLP-based ticket routing systems and exploring transformer-based tracking for autonomous systems.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Mansoura University, Egypt, where I graduated with Honors.

My research interests include Mathematical Foundations of Deep Learning, Graph Neural Networks (algorithmic scalability, sampling), Computer Vision (efficient architectures, geometric reasoning, 2D/3D generation), and Parallel & GPU Computing.

May 19, 2026 I am honored to share that I have been selected to receive the Award for Outstanding Work at the Graduate Level at the Spring 2026 convocation ceremony at Wilfrid Laurier University.
May 05, 2026 I have joined Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) as a Research Assistant in the Department of Electrical, Computer, & Biomedical Engineering, working under the supervision of Dr. Rasha Kashef.
May 04, 2026 I applied for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) on May 4, 2026, and am now authorized to work full-time under WP-EXT status.
May 01, 2026 I took the CELPIP-General English proficiency exam on May 1st, 2026, achieving an average score of 9 (Listening: 11, Reading: 9, Writing: 8, Speaking: 8).
Apr 15, 2026 Our paper, “GeoViG: Geometry-Aware Graph Reasoning for Mobile Vision Tasks in Natural and Medical Images”, has been accepted for presentation at the 48th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC 2026), to be held in Toronto, Canada.
Mar 23, 2026 I am happy to announce that I have successfully defended my Master’s thesis on Geometry-Aware Vision GNNs at Wilfrid Laurier University! Special thanks to my supervisor, Prof. Emad A. Mohammed, and my committee.
